Strategic Planning Essentials for Blood Cancer Patient Advocacy Organisations

This course is part of educational programme "Foundation to impact: Building strong blood cancer patient organisation" consisting of 3-course series. The course aims to help you define your blood cancer organisation mission, set realistic strategic goals, and develop actionable plans that strengthen governance, leadership and long-term impact in blood cancer patient advocacy.

This course is intended for CML, CLL, Acute Leukemia, MPN and Blood Cancer Patient Advocates/Representatives.

By the end of this course, you will understand:

    • Conducting a situation analysis (SWOT and PEST analysis)
    • Prioritizing organizational opportunities and challenges
  • Lesson No. 4: Setting Strategic Objectives
    • Setting SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound) strategic objectives
    • Enablers of impact
    • Turning strategy into action: implementation planning
    • Elements of an annual work plan

    Differentiating process, outcome and impact
    • Concept of surrogate indicators of impact
